Is the issue fixed by reverting back to 1.00.29?  If not, my recommendation would be to completely uninstall all the packages and the printer, restart cups or reboot, and then re-install everything.
Yes, 1.00.29 works fine. I've tried the driver upgrade in the past already (not sure about the version number) and had exactly the same issue. That's why I stayed with 1.00.29.

My interpretation of that thread is that solving the issue requires updating the driver, removing the existing printer installation, restarting (the system or just cupsd), and then adding the printer as a new printer.  So you might want to try that first (obviously you have done the first step).
Unfortunately this procedure didn't work for me. I still got a black pages.

1.00.39 version doesn't work for me - it prints just completely black pages!

In the error log I can see:
D [13/Jul/2021:11:15:40 +0200] [Job 231] free(): invalid pointer
D [13/Jul/2021:11:15:40 +0200] [Job 231] PID 14518 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertospl) crashed on signal 6.

The same issue is discussed here, but I didn't find a way how to fix it.

So could you place 1.00.29 back into the repo, please? Thank you.

Hello,

Is driver2 version 1.00.29 deb package available for manual download anywhere?

I'm using it for my printer (SCX-3405W) now, so I'd like to have a chance to revert in case of any issues after upgrade to 1.00.39 version.

Thanks

Hello,

I use Debian 7 and I have a trouble with the repository now. I can see that some packages where moved from "amd64" arch to "all" recently. But apt ignores all the packages of "all" arch and therefore they disappeared from the repo.

# apt-get update | grep 'www.bchemnet.com'
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian Release.gpg
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian Release
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian/extra amd64 Packages
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian/extra Translation-en_US
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian/extra Translation-en
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian/extra Translation-cs
Hit http://www.bchemnet.com debian/extra Translation-cs_CZ

You can see that apt-get downloads just "amd64" arch, "all" is mentioned nowhere.

Do you know how to fix it, please?

Thanks,
Zbynek

Hello,

My printer SCX-3405W does not work with suld-driver2-1.00.35 nor suld-driver2-1.00.36 driver package in Debian GNU/Linux 7.9 (wheezy) x86_64.

In CUPS I can see "/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertospl failed" error message by the job.

In /var/log/messages is:
Jan 23 22:39:59 localhost kernel: [27424.975352] rastertospl[11470]: segfault at 39000017 ip 00007f2e38abf3c0 sp 00007ffc6a82e530 error 4 in libc-2.13.so[7f2e38a48000+181000]

Older suld-driver2-1.00.29 is OK.

Is it possible to fix it, please? Or do you use binary files from Samsung, so I should report it there?

Thanks,
Zbynek

Hi, I get the same error quite often. It seems that this is a web server issue.

When web server returns "404 Not Found" for given file, then apt-get behaves ok. But sometimes it returns "302 Moved Temporarily", that leads to apt-get's "Failed to fetch ... Could not resolve" error message.

I have tried to download "http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/dists/debian/extra/i18n/Translation-cs.bz2" file and got redirection to "http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/dists/debian/extra/i18n/Translation-cs.bz2?3e3ea140".

Could you check your web server log/settings, please? Thanks ;)
