Steps
1- Install suld-driver-4.00.39 per the index page instructions
2- Open the printers management in Ubuntu
3- Add printer -> Network, I had already configured the Wireless settings of the printer from Windows, so it was already expecting me in the menu
4- Chose LPD (no IPP option available)
Everything works, the weird thing is that the test pages don't tell the same story, I get the following in the self-test page
%!
userdict dup(\004)cvn{}put (\004\004)cvn{}put
% You are using the wrong driver for your printer!
0 setgray
2 setlinewidth
initclip newpath clippath gsave stroke grestore pathbbox
exch pop exch pop exch 9 add exch 9 sub moveto
/Courier findfont 12 scalefont setfont
0 -12 rmoveto gsave product show grestore
0 -12 rmoveto gsave version show ( ) show revision 20 string cvs show grestore
0 -12 rmoveto gsave serialnumber 20 string cvs show grestore
showpage

and in the test page I get only the first 2 lines
