Networked CLX-3175 works in Sane, but is not found by the configurator

I've installed the driver and configurator on an Opensuse 12.2 system after using alien to convert the .debs to rpms. It installed with absolutely no problems and everything works fine except for this minor issue - the configurator tells me it cannot find any scanner on the system. The scanner works with sane and the /opt/Samsung/mfp/bin/netdiscovery --all --scanner command at a command line finds the scanner with no problem. Since I can use the scanner with XSane, this is really not a problem, but it is a bit of a conundrum which I'd like to figure out.

Thanks for producing these drivers -- they solved many problems I had before I stumbled on them.

The only immediate possibility that comes to my mind is a group issue (e.g., not being in the lp group).  I agree it's a bit odd.

If you mean my userid, it is in the lp group.

That is what I meant.  When I have some time (probably not for a month or so), I'll see if I can come up with anything else.
