I try different solutions to work with SCX-4216F on Ubuntu 12.10. Currently when removing all samsungmfp* packages, the installed printer still exist in the print dialogue and the status is: "file /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertosamsungspl not available"
Even when I install the packages, this status does not resolve.
In the previous configurations I had problem with scanning but currently after some trying, both printer and scanner don't work!
How can I completely remove all footprints and have a fresh install?
Installing Ubuntu again, is time consuming. Help me plz.

Removing the packages removes everything associated with them.  However, if you ever tried the Samsung installer, it may have left behind files - follow the instructions on the website.  (That would also work if the packages are leaving behind files for some strange reason.)  Removing the packages does not itself uninstall printers that you have configured, because that is a user setting (otherwise an update to the packages would break all printers).
