add printer crashes
« on: August 15, 2013, 11:14:12 »
Hi,

I've installed suld a long time ago and since both samsung printers I used broke, I stopped using it (but didn't uninstall the drivers).

Today I had to connect to a samsung network printer in the office and couldn't get past the first screen of "add printer"... after clicking on the "next" button the application would die.

I launched it manually (like '/opt/Samsung/mfp/bin/printeradd') and, after pressing the button, this is what I get in the terminal:

Code: [Select]

Try installing suld-configurator-1-qt4 to get an older version of the printeradd routine that seems more stable.

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

I was using that version when this first happened. I tried upgrading to suld-configurator-2-qt4 to see if this would fix it, to no avail :-(

I am not sure why it is crashing for you.  If all you are trying to do is add the printer, I suggest an alternate tool, such as system-config-printer.  Otherwise, the qt3 version of the configurator might work.

Thanks. I was able to add it with system-config-printer
