Hi,

I'm running Debian on a server at home and trying to configure it as a print server with my ML-2164.

I'm running CUPS 1.4.4
uname -svr output :
Linux 2.6.24.4 #1 Thu Apr 1 16:43:58 CST 2010

I've downloaded and install ULD 1.00.06 from Samsung website.
This driver doesn't work on the server.
Cups is complaining about rastertospl :
"/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertospl failed"

Here is the /var/log/cups/error_log attached.

I'm pretty sure this is a driver issue but if in any case some of you have any idea...
I've asked Samsung, waiting for their answer, I will post it here.

Best regards

Antoine

hello,

I got it to work thanks to this article : http://kb.haeringer.org/share-usb-printer-on-the-network-via-cups-and-ipp/

For now, printing from the server itself doesn't work (I got the error reported above when trying to print a test page) but the shared printer works.
I have to manually install the printer on the clients (Ubuntu 12.04 and Mac OSX, not test yet on Windows).

So I think the same should work on a RPi
