Scanning starts and breaks with I/O error after some while
« on: January 06, 2014, 14:25:32 »
Hi together,

I am operating an CLX-6260ND on Xubuntu 12.04
Xsane is 0.998
Driver2 1.00.06-1 from this site is installed
The device is connected via network (router is a fritz box) as ipp://192.168.178.28, the address is static
The laptop is also connected by wire.

The printing works perfect.
Scanning from xsane or other software the scanning starts:
=> the status bar in xsane shows "receiving data"
=> the display on the printer shows "sending data"
after some while xsane get's grey and seems to hang,
then the printer ends with a "transfer error" and xsane prompts an "I/O error on data transfer".

For some while this was intermittent (former drivers).
Meanwhile this is standard and I can't scan any more (former drivers and still the new one).

Running xsane from the terminal there are no error messages shown in the terminal.

Does anyone has any clue where I can start tracking the topic down?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Regards

From your description, I doubt that this is due to the Samsung drivers.  If there has been an update to sane recently, that might be it.  Or it could be hardware?

Sorry I can't give any specific help.

Hoi,

My fear had been that I am sitting in front of the forest without seeing trees ;-) OK - that seems not to be the case.

I'll report if any solution pops up.

In any case anyone has any further ideas they are highly appreciated.

Regards
