Can't find driver for M2070W printer

Hi,

I am using the "suld-driver-4.01.17" driver on my Ubuntu 10.04 system. I am also using the Unified Driver Configurator GUI to set up my M2070W printer. The printer is recognized by the computer and all, but I can't find the specific driver for my printer. What I do is, I press add printer and browse through the list of available drivers, but the one I need cannot be found. I have been messing around with other versions of the drivers, but without success.

Any suggestions on what to do?

This printer is only supported by "driver2", so you will have to install suld-driver2-1.00.06 to have a driver.

Thanks for the reply. I tried installing the driver you suggested. Then I used the native printing setup tool that's included in my distribution (System - Administration - Printing), but I still can't find the correct driver.
To be very explicit; what I see is the New Printer window where I select Samsung M2070 under Devices. The computer then searches for drivers without finding anything automatically. I then select the Samsung drivers and look in the list for the driver for my machine without finding it...

Any idea what I do wrong?

I don't know why it isn't showing up.

However, you should still be able to set up your printer by choosing "Provide PPD file" instead of choosing from the list of vendors.  If you have suld-ppd-3 installed (which should be if suld-driver2-1.00.06 is installed), then the correct file is /usr/share/ppd/suld/Samsung_M2070_Series.ppd.gz .
