Print Test Page is OK, but Print Self Test page is not

I have a Samsung SCX-3405FW and am running Ubuntu (64-bit)  13.10.

I can Print the test page ok, but when I select the Print Self Test Page, the Printer 'OK" button flashes briefly, but nothing is printed. There are no errors reported in any of the usual places (i.e. CUPS or syslog).

I've tried this both via UAB and WiFI with the same result.

I've downloaded the SULD default driver via the repository "deb http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ debian extra". Looks like its 4.00.39-2

Are you able to print any actual documents?  It's possible that the Self Test page has a set of instructions that the printer doesn't like, but that aren't relevant for documents.

Sorry, should have replied sooner.

Looks like I can print documents ok, just not the Self Test Page.
