Hi to all forum-members,

I am new an hope, to meet the "requirements" for a good posting in this forum. :-)
First to system(s): Using Ubuntu (Unity) 14.04 32bit-flavor on a Lenovo X220 and a CLX-6220FX over LAN with the bchemnet-Repositories installed the printer works fine in a wide range of functionality.
As "basic-drivers" I installed:
- suld-ppd-3
- suld-driver2-common-1
- suld-driver2-1.00.06

So far so good.

As I tried to set up the "scan to pc-function" of my 6220, I installed the packages
- suld-scantopc
- suld-scantopc-gui

And then the following problems within the installation with synaptic occur:

With that result I get a "broken" icon in the Unity-panel which shows the respective menu, but trying to i.e. restart the server I get as feedback:
cannot be restarted
Networkscanner not available
(the device - my 6220 is "up and running")

As additional information I attach the LogFile.

I use Ubuntu (and derivatives) since 2008 and think, that I am not a "noob". But I do not get enough of a clue, how to overcome that. Can anyone help, or has/had the same problem (and hopefully a solution to it)?

I am about to post slightly modified versions of these packages, which may address your problem.

Installation of the packages worked flawlessly now, but the Server seems to find no Scanner (although simple-scan does).
I've attached the logfile. Maybe you can interpret the problem.

Edit: And ... sorry, that I started this thread in the wrong Forum.

I get the same error in my logfile when trying to start the scanner server. I run Ubuntu 12.04 32bit.
Disabling the firewall (ufw) has no effect.

You can try posting in the development thread to see if the original developers of the scripts can help.  I can see where the problem is, but don't have a device with which I could test any fix (and honestly don't have time to debug it even if I did).
