Samsung CLX-3185FN and "Invalid Request. Some Error"
« on: April 07, 2014, 13:12:05 »
Hello!

Trying to use suld-scantopc but /var/log/samsungScanneServer.log says:

04-07-14 21:05:28 root         ERROR    Network or scanner not available (Error registering server: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN">

</BODY>

</HTML>

I am running Linux 3.12-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.12.9-1 (2014-02-01) x86_64 GNU/Linux and have following suld packages installed:

ii  suld-driver-4.00.36                   4.00.36-2                         amd64        Samsung Unified Linux Driver
ii  suld-driver-common-1                  1-6                               all          Samsung Unified Linux Driver (common files)
ii  suld-network-2                        4.01.17-1                         amd64        Samsung Unified Driver Configurator (network connectivity)
ii  suld-ppd-1                            4.00.39-1                         all          Samsung Unified Linux Driver (ppd files)
ii  suld-scantopc                         0.4.5-3                           all          Samsung Scanner Server

My printer is recognized and found:

> scanimage -L
device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname Built-in iSight virtual device
device `smfp:SAMSUNG CLX-3180 Series on 10.x.x.9' is a SAMSUNG CLX-3180 Series on 10.x.x.9 Scanner

> /opt/Samsung/mfp/bin/netdiscovery --all --scanner
# DEBUG: Network printers discovery utility
ip: 10.x.x.9      slp: 0,0,0,0 snmp: 0,0,0 vendor: Samsung dsc: "CLX-3180 Series"

What could be the problem?

Also tried with earlier driver:

ii  suld-driver-3.00.65                   3.00.65-2                         amd64        Samsung Unified Linux Driver
ii  suld-driver-common-1                  1-6                               all          Samsung Unified Linux Driver (common files)
ii  suld-network-2                        4.01.17-1                         amd64        Samsung Unified Driver Configurator (network connectivity)
ii  suld-ppd-1                            4.00.39-1                         all          Samsung Unified Linux Driver (ppd files)
ii  suld-scantopc                         0.4.5-3                           all          Samsung Scanner Server

No dice, same error message.
