Hi Expert,

I try to install the Unified driver for SCX4521F on my Debian 7, which is connected to my computer through a USB cable. but it does not work. I followed the instruction and supported version and tried 3.00.37 and the latest 4.1 drivers. The installation of the driver was successful. However,  when I tried to add the printer through the Printer tools, it did find "SCX 4x21 series", nothing happened after I clicked on the "Add" button.

I also tried the suld configuration and did not work neither. When I clicked on "Add Printer" button, nothing happened.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Steven

Please help! I am pretty desperate now. If it's not working, I need to get a new printer :(

Basically, all packages install are finished successfully. But when I try to add the printer, there is no error, just no printer added. Also, I try the suld-configurator, the welcome dialog of "Add Printer" pops up, but it disappear after I click "next".

This sounds like it could be a bug in CUPS rather than the Samsung driver.  The only way I can think to test that is to have another printer (different brand or model) and try that.

Or perhaps there is some odd communication error with your particular printer.  This model has been reported to work multiple times in the past.

Sorry I can't provide a specific solution.

Thanks.

I actually figure out the solution. I added the printer from the CUPS administration page and it works fine.

Cheers,
Steven
