Upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 Precise, breaks the scanning - SOLVED

Hi all, I have just upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04.

My MFP-Multi Functional Printer is a Samsung CLX-3180. Everything was working at Ubuntu 11.10.
When I upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04, the Configurator (main interface) is working fine - no problem. But if I try to call the scanner interface it breaks with segmentation fault.
I called the smfpscan manually (command line) as follows to see what was happening:

~$ /opt/Samsung/mfp/bin/smfpscan -N smfp:"SAMSUNG CLX-3180 on 192.168.1.90"

The scanning interface starts to appear but then I receive the segfault.

I was with samsungmfp-configurator-qt4 since the Ubuntu 11.10.

To SOLVE the problem I *only* installed samsungmfp-configurator-qt3 and synaptic automagically asked me for installing libqt3-mt and deinstalling samsungmfp-configurator-qt4. I agreed.

Now everything is working. Of course the qt3 interface is a little bit poor than the polished qt4 but I prefer my scanning working than a pretty interface.

Hope this helps.

P.S.: I did this procedure with my two computers and the scanning only returns to work installing samsungmfp-configurator-qt3 instead of samsungmfp-configurator-qt4

Thanks for sharing.  This implies the problem is likely to be a conflict with some update to a Qt4 library, which I may be able to track down and deal with when I have some time in a week or two.  In the meantime, a Qt3 install is simple enough.

If anyone is still experiencing this, I am curious as to whether the newly released (to the repository) versions of the Configurator work better (i.e., the Qt4 versions are as stable as the Qt3 ones).  Since I can't reproduce this issue, I can't test it.

With my configuration I get the same error behaviour with Qt4. The /tmp/ log file of smfpscan.app is attached. Reverting to Qt3 makes the problem go away ... ;)

Please let me know if the packages from today's update continue to have this problem.
