M2675FN works... finally

Hi everyone,

just spent a few hours desperately trying to get my new M2675FN (MFP with network connection) up and running. Network setup worked without problems right from the beginning, but then I was faced with the following issues:
- When printing something, the printer starts spinning some motors for a second or two and the display says "Printing", but then nothing happens.
- The operating system (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS in this case) is not notified of any problems, some sniffing with Wireshark also showed that it reports "Job completed" without actually printing anything.
- With the "Print Self-Test page" button, a page is printed, saying "If you can read this, you are using the wrong driver for your printer".

Installing different versions of the SULD did not really fix the problem, maybe also because I did not know how to actually select the SULD driver. But in the end it really was the problem of selecting the wrong driver. I have the following driver options when selecting the driver:
- Samsung M267x 287x Series PXL [en] (recommended)
- Samsung M267x 287x Series, pxlmono-Samsung 20140114 (OpenPrinting LSB 3.2) [en]
- Samsung M267x 287x Series [en]
- Samsung M267x 287x Foomatic/lj5gray [en]
- Samsung M267x 287x Foomatic/pxlmono [en]

The one that finally worked was the third: Samsung M267x 287x Series [en]
The currently installed SULD package is suld-driver2-1.00.29. I'm using IPP with URI ipp://192.168.0.252 now, but the protocol does not seem to matter that much, DNS-SD worked as well, AppSocket/JetDirect would probably work too.

With this driver, the "Print Self-Test page" is no longer available, but printing finally works well!

Scanning using simple-scan works as well, but it was veeery slow (some 20s per page or so) with the SULD driver 4.01.17. Since switching to 1.00.29, it's much faster, data transfer now takes about the same amount of time as the scanner acually needs to process it (maybe 3s).

So I'm quite happy with it now and hope that it will last for a long time. I actually bought a laser printer because I often won't use it for weeks, which may render inkjets useless in no time.

Cheers,
Philipp
