Hello, I have had great experience using the Samsung printer with Mint 16 and 17 using the unified driver. I expected Mint 18.3 Sylvia would detect the printer using native drivers. Indeed, it does detect the printer but I keep getting firmware error message on the print outs.

I have my old installer file UnifiedLinuxDriver_0.92.tar.gz but suspect UnifiedLinuxDriver-3.00.90.tar.gz would be the latest version.

The only thing is that I am baffled why I cannot find an installation tutorial here. Or how do I start the installation process. Am I missing something?

3.00.90 is the oldest version that supports your printer.  I recommend trying the latest - driver2 1.00.39.  That is most likely to work with newer Linux distributions.

As far as instructions, either set up the repository as described on the main SULDR web page, or run uld/install.sh in the install package from Samsung then follow the prompts.

Just one thing. My update manager returned several errors related to packages it could not install or download. It was a long list. I took a screen shot but did not copy the text. In the absence of uploading the screen shot here, do you think this might be related to amending the sources list?

Please upload the screenshot.  I cannot evaluate without seeing the errors.

Apologies, I just noticed I had inadvertently copied & pasted twice in sources list. Problem seems resolved for now.

Thank you.
