Tip: SNMP must be *enabled* for network scan to work

I spent an hour+ troubleshooting my SCX-3405FW today because I turned off SNMP (via the web interface). Apparently that's what SANE (and even Samsung's own scanning utilities on Windows) uses for printer discovery over the network. Just putting this out there to possibly save someone else's time.
