I just set up my new computer with Pop!_OS 20.04 (based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS), and I'm pleased to report that everything works as expected.

Sanity checks
- Ensure firewall is not blocking stuff!
- ensure SNMP on the printer is on!
- ensure printer is on the same subnet!
   - DHCP is fine, no reservation needed. Printer's IP address does not go into the computer config except possibly for allowing through firewall.

Scanning
Nothing here other than standard SULDR driver install.
$ wget http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/pool/debian/extra/su/suldr-keyring_2_all.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i suldr-keyring_2_all.deb
$ rm suldr-keyring_2_all.deb
$ sudo bash -c 'echo "deb https://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ debian extra" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/suldr.list'
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install suld-driver2-1.00.39
$ scanimage -L
That last line should now show the printer. Gnome's basic scanning utility should work.

Printing
I'm pleased to report that printing works out of the box with no tweaking necessary! The printer was auto-discovered and printing a test page worked as expected.
