Samsung SCX-3205 printing only weird symbols
« on: December 04, 2012, 14:43:31 »
My printer - Samsung SCX-3205
My distribution - Ubuntu 12.04
Prnter is connected via USB
I have installed driver 4.00.39-1

My printer print only pages with couple of weird symbols. I have this problem since I remeber. Before I upgraded to 12.04 (10.04 was used) I managed to print in following way: I print document. Printer start printing pages with symbols so I press "Clear" button on printer. I print document again and it was printed fine
Now I upgraded to 12.04 and seems that driver was not working. so I remove them (i'm not sure now which one I used) and installed driver from Unified linux driver repository.
I printed test page - symbols again - press Clear button
test page again - page fine
I printed web page - fine
I tried pdf - symbols
and from this point I'm not able to print anything then symbols

I tried to install samsungmfp-driver-pdf-fix package but this does not work

Could you please advice some help?

Thanks

You might try installing the printer using the generic PCL5e driver.  There are a couple of reports that works on openprinting.org, and it may address your strange printing issues.  Otherwise I can only recommend my standard troubleshooting: trying different driver versions from the repository.
