SCX-3405W won't print under Debian 8.2

It's me again. I had gotten it working at one poinbt by some black magic that just isn't working now. I upgraded the OS and now I just get blinky lights and then nothing.

Seeing lots of this in /var/log/cups/error_log

The files seem to be binary. I can't find anywhere that tells me what they are or how to fix them.

lsusb gives:
Bus 002 Device 046: ID 04e8:344f Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd SCX-3400 Series

I tried the drivers from their site and same damn thing. This is all leaving a very sour taste in my mouth.

The files are additional binaries required for specific printers, that are called as needed by the universal Samsung driver.  For the most part I don't know what they do, but the errors are not themselves a problem: they are in fact not normal driver files, so it does not surprise me that CUPS complains about them, and the errors do not indicate anything is wrong with them.

Unfortunately I have no alternate ideas of what might be wrong based on your description.
