SLP driver for C460

Hi,

recently I have bought the C460FW printer. I have successfully installed the "driver2" and everything works really great!

However, the C460 driver uses PostScript and the rendering on the printer is not the fastest.  I'm wondering if there is a way to create an SPL driver for the C460?

I have even tried to use the C410 driver, which is very similar printer (though not MFC) and the driver uses SPL -  I could successfully print. However there is a slight difference in some of the features/settings.

Why is the current driver using PostScript? Is it possible to add an SPL based PPD for the C460?
If someone can help me I can even try to build the PPD myself I already started playing around with it.

Thanks
Petr

Samsung presumably could create an SPL driver if they felt the need.  Since they didn't, I'm assuming they won't - some of their printers simply use PS.

It may be possible to modify the PPD as you describe to utilize the SPL driver, but I have no experience with that.  I have modified PPDs in the past, but never to the degree you are describing, and even then only with mixed success.

This is not to discourage you, but just to point out that there isn't an easy solution.
